The two most common boat insurance options are Comprehensive and Third Party Property Damage. Comprehensive provides you with cover for the loss or damage to your vessel, motor, trailer, and accessories or equipment regardless of whether you were at fault or not, and includes Liability cover for damages that you cause to a third party and their property, up to 250 nautical miles off mainland Australia. Third Party Property Damage provides Liability cover only, and does not cover loss or damage to your own vessel or trailer.
